In this still life comprised of the maquettes for my metallic sculptures become subjects of reflection, both literal and metaphorical. Illuminated by blue light, their surfaces blur distinctions between solid and fluid, presence and empty space. Using oil paint, I explore how perception transforms matter, and how the material world shapes the act of seeing.
