I painted these magenta-pink roses because they radiate an electric, vivid energy. Like blossoms that draw in pollinators, they seem to generate their own light while filling the space around them with warmth and intensity. I’m fascinated by how magenta is a relatively modern color invention, a hue that can feel almost magnetic, like an energy connecting natural design and human invention. I see these works as part of a longer conversation about how we observe, how we value the environment, and how we connect to the natural world.
