Oil on wood panel, 8”x8”x1”
The backside of this violet poppy caught the light in a way that made its thin petals appear to glow from within. When I created this painting, I allowed the luminosity of oil paint and brushwork to dissolve into abstraction in order to capture that translucence. Light and color became both subject and medium, offering a reminder that slow perception itself can teach us to see nature with renewed reverence.
